Zoom
In computing, "zoom" can refer to two main things: a popular video conferencing service, Zoom, that provides audio, video, and screen-sharing capabilities, and the function to magnify or de-magnify a digital view to see more or less detail on a screen. The magnifying function is often called a zooming user interface (ZUI), where users can zoom in to see elements up close or zoom out to see a broader overview of the information, like text, images, or entire applications.
Zoom (the service): A cloud-based communication service for virtual meetings, webinars, and phone calls. It allows users to join and host meetings with video and audio, share screens, share files, and use chat features. During the COVID-19 pandemic, its usage surged dramatically for remote work and distance education.

Magnification: The ability to increase or decrease the scale of a digital view, like a web page or document, to make it appear larger or smaller on the screen.
Zoomable User Interface (ZUI): A graphical interface where elements are presented on a continuous virtual desktop, and users can zoom in and out to navigate between a high-level overview and specific details of objects on the screen.
Common methods: Users can zoom by clicking "+" or "-" buttons, often found in a menu or toolbar, or by using keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + + or Ctrl + -.
