Webring

A webring is a network of websites with a common theme, linked together in a circular structure to allow visitors to easily navigate between them. Each site in the ring includes a navigation system, often with "Previous" and "Next" buttons, that moves visitors to the next site in the loop. Webrings were an early method for content discovery before modern search engines, organized around shared interests like photography or gaming.

How it works

Circular linking: A webring connects sites in a closed loop, so you can go from one site to the next and eventually back to the start.

Shared navigation: Each member site contains a navigation bar or a snippet of code that directs visitors to the other sites in the ring.

Thematic organization: Sites are grouped by a specific topic, such as a certain hobby or subject, to provide a curated browsing experience.

Ring Master: A person, or "ring master," manages the webring. They enforce rules, approve new members, and set up the navigation structure.
