Raw Data
Raw data is information in its original, unprocessed form, collected directly from a source without any sorting, formatting, or analysis. It is the initial set of facts, figures, or observations that can be either quantitative (numerical) or qualitative (descriptive). This unprocessed state makes it flexible for different analysis methods, but it is not useful until it is processed to clean, organize, and structure it into meaningful information.
Description of raw data
Unprocessed: It has not been altered or manipulated by software or humans.
Source-based: It is data as it comes from its origin, such as a sensor, a website form, or a database query.
Foundation for analysis: It is the starting point for all data analysis, machine learning, and reporting.
Quantitative or qualitative: It can be numerical data (like sales figures) or descriptive data (like customer feedback comments).
Requires processing: It is not directly useful until it is cleaned, structured, and transformed into a usable format.
