Reimage
Reimaging a computer is the process of erasing the drive, reinstalling the operating system, and installing a standard set of applications and settings from a pre-made disk image. This is done to fix problems, remove viruses, prepare a system for a new user, or create a standardized, bloatware-free environment. Reimaging wipes all user data, so any personal files need to be backed up beforehand.
What reimaging involves
Erasing the hard drive: All data, applications, and the existing operating system are completely wiped from the computer's storage.
Installing a new image: A clean, pre-configured operating system image is installed onto the drive. This image typically includes the OS, drivers, and any standard software needed.
Restoring settings: After the new image is installed, user settings may be restored from a backup to get the computer ready for use.
