Quick Launch
Quick Launch was a Windows taskbar feature that provided one-click access to frequently used applications, files, and shortcuts. It appeared as a toolbar on the taskbar and was designed to improve productivity by reducing the time it took to find and open programs. While it has been superseded by other methods like pinning to the taskbar in later Windows versions, it served as a customizable area for a user's most-used icons.
Key functions and features
Quick access: Allows users to open applications with a single click, without needing to search through the Start menu or browse folders.
Customization: Users can add or remove shortcuts to personalize the toolbar with their most-used items.
Desktop clutter reduction: By placing shortcuts on the Quick Launch bar, users could avoid cluttering their desktop with too many icons.
Keyboard shortcuts: Supported keyboard shortcuts to launch applications without using a mouse.
"Show Desktop" icon: By default, it included a "Show Desktop" icon that would minimize all open windows to display the desktop.
