Output
In computing, "output" is any data or information that a computer or electronic device produces and sends to a user or another device. It is the result of processing input and can be displayed on a screen, printed on paper, or delivered as audio or video. Common examples of output include text and images on a monitor, a printed document from a printer, and music from speakers.
Key aspects of computer output
Definition: The data or information that is produced by a computer after it has processed input.
Purpose: To present the results of a process to a user in a human-perceptible form.
Forms:
Visual: Text, graphics, and video displayed on a monitor or projector.
Auditory: Sound from speakers or headphones.
Physical: A hard copy of a document from a printer.
Tactile: A vibration from a game controller or haptic feedback on a mobile device.
Output devices: Hardware that converts data into a human-understandable format, such as a monitor, printer, or speakers.
Input vs. Output: The opposite of output is "input," which is the data that is entered into a computer to be processed. Together, input and output are referred to as "I/O".
