LED printer

An LED printer is a type of toner-based printer that uses a stationary array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of a laser to create an image on a drum. This technology is similar to a laser printer but uses a fixed LED bar to flash an entire line of dots at once, which makes the mechanism simpler with fewer moving parts.

How it works: An LED array, which is a straight bar of LEDs, sits across the width of the page. The drum rotates and is selectively charged by the light from the LED array as it flashes. This charged pattern attracts toner particles, which are then transferred to the paper as it passes over the drum. The image is then permanently fused to the paper, similar to a traditional laser printer.
