ICS is an acronym with multiple meanings in computing, most commonly Internet Connection Sharing, a Windows feature for sharing a single internet connection across a local network, and Industrial Control System, a system that manages industrial processes like manufacturing and power grids. What it is: A Windows service that allows a computer with an internet connection to share it with other devices on a local network (LAN).

Purpose: To let multiple devices share one internet connection without needing a separate router.
