Double-Click
A double-click is the action of pressing a computer mouse button twice in quick succession without moving the mouse. This input sends a command to the operating system or active program to perform a specific, intended action. Typical functions of a double-click. The specific result of a double-click depends on what you click and the program you are using.
To open an item: On a desktop, double-clicking a file or application icon will open it.
To select text: In many programs, double-clicking a word selects the entire word. In some applications, a triple-click selects the entire sentence or paragraph.
To activate functions: In various software, a double-click on a specific element can trigger an action, such as expanding an item in a list.
