Crop
In a computer context, "crop" means to trim or cut away the outer edges of an image or video to remove unwanted areas, change the aspect ratio, or improve the focus on a specific subject. This action is performed using a crop tool in image or video editing software, resulting in a smaller version of the original media file with the desired portion retained.
How Cropping Works
Select the media: Open the image or video you want to crop in an editing program.
Use the crop tool: Select the crop tool, which typically appears as black handles on the edges and corners of the image.
Define the area: Drag these handles inward to define the boundaries of the area you want to keep.
Apply the crop: Press Enter or Return (depending on the operating system) to apply the changes and remove the outer parts of the image.
