Bcc
Bcc, or blind carbon copy, is an email field that sends copies of a message to additional recipients while concealing their email addresses from all other recipients. It is most often used for privacy and discretion in email communication.
How Bcc works
When you send an email, there are three primary address fields:
To: For the main recipient(s) of the message. These addresses are visible to all other recipients.
Cc (Carbon Copy): For recipients who need to be kept informed but are not the primary audience. Their addresses are also visible to everyone.
Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy): For recipients whose addresses you want to keep hidden from others. Recipients in the To and Cc fields cannot see who is on the Bcc list.
If there are multiple people on the Bcc list, they cannot see each other's addresses either. The only person who can see all Bcc recipients is the sender, by checking the message in their sent folder.
